What is GCAI?
The Greater Charlotte Area Intergroup is an organization composed of representatives from meetings in the greater Charlotte area. Its purpose is to aid and support the Charlotte SAA community in ways that cannot be easily accomplished by a single meeting. This community support includes (but is not limited to)
- Operating the newcomer hotline
- Maintaining this website
- Planning workshops and events
- Providing financial assistance to local meetings
- Engaging with ISO (International Service Organization, the organizing body of SAA worldwide)
Financial Assistance
GCAI can offer funds to local meetings for uses aligned with the Twelve Traditions of SAA. Examples include, but are not limited to:
- Covering expenses for members attending conferences and workshops
- Helping to pay for events and fellowship opportunities
- Purchasing literature for new meetings
Requests for financial assistance should be agreed upon by a meeting’s group conscience before the request is made, and all requests must be signed by the requester and the meeting’s secretary. To submit a request, complete the form linked below and send it to webmaster@charlottesaa.net.
